About Sara
Hello! My name is Sara (she/her), I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a master of science degree in marriage and family therapy, and a bachelors in psychology from Capella University. I am passionate about helping couples, families, and individuals of diverse backgrounds, and as a former service member, I take a special interest in helping those who serve, and have served, in the armed forces and their loved ones. I have experience providing mental health services for adults, adolescents, and their families involved with partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.
I know how hard taking the first step to getting help can be, both personally and in relationships, especially when you might not know what to expect when coming to therapy. I feel honored to walk alongside those who are facing obstacles and trying to find their way. Life can be messy! Whether you are feeling stuck in the same repetitive cycles, experiencing a life transition, navigating grief and pain, or have experienced trauma in your life that is affecting your most cherished relationships and personal happiness, I want to be able to help you get where you want to be, both in life and your relationships. My approach to therapy is largely informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory, with the incorporation of experiential methods. I also utilize Structural Family Therapy and am level 1 trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy with level 2 on the way.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading a good fantasy novel, and being one of the loudest moms at my children’s sporting events – but most of all I enjoy family time with my husband, two sons, daughter, bonus daughter, and fur baby – the Chocolate Lab – Coco Jones.
