About Dr. Philip
Joshua Philip, PhD (he/him/his) is a post-doctoral fellow supervised by Dr. Karla Gomez-Estrada of Dallas Therapy Associates. Dr. Philip is dedicated to fostering meaningful and impactful relationships, aiming to empower his clients through the development of agency, purpose, and insight. He offers both in-person and tele-health services, with availability during evenings and weekends. Education and Training
Dr. Philip earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University, an APA-accredited program. He completed his APA-accredited doctoral internship at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
His clinical experiences encompass counseling in community mental health and university counseling centers, conducting psychological assessments, managing and intervening in crises, and working with children and adolescents in middle and high school settings.

Dr. Philip primarily utilizes existential and humanistic approaches, emphasizing the importance of personal meaning, individual freedom, inherent potential for growth and an ever-expanding view of the world. He often employs person-centered therapy, a humanistic approach focused on creating a non-judgmental, empathetic, and accepting environment. Dr. Philip adapts his approach to meet the unique needs of each client, recognizing the distinct nature of every individual’s journey. He strives to co-create a collaborative relationship with his clients, built on empathy, trust, vulnerability, and safety. This partnership allows the life experiences of both the client and therapist to interact, promoting healing and self-understanding.

About Me
Dr. Philip is passionate about music—whether he's listening, singing, or playing guitar. He stays active with different forms of exercise, from walking and lifting weights to playing basketball. He also cherishes quality time with his family and friends especially his wife and their two cats.
